When standard packaging tape isn't enough, 3M Scotch 890MSR high-strength filament tape is engineered for demanding industrial bundling, reinforcing, and strapping applications. Its heavy polyester-film backing is reinforced with continuous glass-yarn filaments, while its modified synthetic rubber adhesive is specially formulated to bond well to metal surfaces, including oily metals.
With a reported tensile strength of 600 lb/in and an 8-mil total thickness, 890MSR is designed for heavy-gauge metal bundling, pipe wrapping, coil tabbing, and other applications requiring high strength and dependable holding power. The backing also resists nicks, abrasion, moisture, and scuffing.
