3M 256 Printable Flatback Paper Tape is designed for labeling, coding, identification, masking, bundling, holding, splicing, tabbing, and other applications where a printable or easily marked paper tape is needed.

The colored flatback paper backing can be printed with standard flexographic inks and can also be marked with ballpoint pens, felt-tip pens, pencils, and rubber stamps. This makes 3M 256 well suited for identification, color coding, labeling, defect flagging, and other applications where information needs to be written or printed directly on the tape.

A rubber pressure-sensitive adhesive provides quick adhesion to a variety of paper, film, fabric, and yarn surfaces. The flatback paper backing tears easily by hand while providing good strength for light- to medium-duty bundling, banding, holding, tabbing, and splicing applications.

3M 256 Printable Flatback Paper Tape provides short-term temperature resistance up to 200°F (93°C). It is intended primarily for indoor applications and should not be subjected to outdoor exposure.
