Heavy Duty Surface Protection Tape for Metals & Plastics

3M 346 Heavy Duty Protective Tape is a thick, durable paper tape designed to help protect metal, plastic, and other surfaces from abrasion, moisture, and damage during manufacturing, handling, storage, and transportation.

The heavy flat paper stock backing provides abrasion and moisture resistance while helping filter UV rays. A specially formulated rubber adhesive provides dependable adhesion while resisting staining and adhesive transfer to help reduce cleanup when the tape is removed.

3M 346 can be used for both indoor and outdoor surface protection. Under most conditions, the long-aging adhesive can remain in place for up to six months while still providing reasonably clean removal, making it well suited for temporary protection of finished surfaces and materials in transit.

With a total tape thickness of approximately 16.7 mil, 3M 346 provides a substantially heavier construction than general-purpose flatback tapes. The tape is tan in color and is available in wide rolls for protecting larger surface areas.

3M 346 is designed primarily as a heavy duty protective tape rather than a general-purpose masking tape. Always evaluate the tape on the specific surface and application conditions before extended use.
