Heavy Duty Filament Tape for Bundling, Metal Splicing & Reinforcement

3M 880 High-Performance Filament Tape is a heavy duty reinforced tape designed for metal splicing, coil tabbing, pipe and rebar bundling, reinforcing, and demanding industrial packaging applications.

Continuous polyester yarn filaments provide high tensile strength along with excellent impact and cut resistance. The reinforced construction helps the tape absorb shock during rough handling and transportation, making 3M 880 well suited for securing heavy or difficult loads where conventional packaging tape may not provide enough strength.

A tough polypropylene film backing helps protect the reinforcing filaments and adhesive while providing resistance to abrasion, moisture, scuffing, and punctures. The pressure-sensitive synthetic rubber resin adhesive provides strong initial adhesion and long-term holding power on fiberboard, plastics, painted and printed surfaces, and non-oily metals.

With a tensile strength of approximately 270 lb/in and a total thickness of 7.7 mil, 3M 880 provides high-strength performance for industrial bundling, reinforcement, metalworking, and shipping applications. The tape holds quickly with minimal rubdown and provides high shear adhesion for dependable holding power.

The clear version of 3M 880 can also be printed for labeling, warning, identification, or advertising applications while allowing underlying graphics and information to remain visible.
