Heavy Duty Filament Tape for Oily Metals, Bundling & Wrapping

3M 890MSR High-Strength Filament Tape is an industrial reinforced tape designed for bundling, wrapping, securing, and reinforcing heavy-gauge metals and other demanding applications where very high tensile strength and dependable adhesion are required.

Continuous glass yarn filaments provide exceptional reinforcement and tensile strength, while the durable polyester film backing helps resist abrasion, moisture, scuffing, and damage during rough shipping, handling, and industrial use.

A pressure-sensitive modified synthetic rubber resin adhesive is specially formulated to provide strong adhesion to metal, including oily metal surfaces. This makes 3M 890MSR particularly well suited for metalworking applications and for bundling or wrapping materials that may be exposed to gas or oil.

With a tensile strength of approximately 600 lb/in and a total tape thickness of 8 mil, 3M 890MSR provides very high strength for demanding industrial applications while maintaining good initial adhesion, high shear strength, long-term holding power, and excellent aging characteristics.

3M 890MSR is available in clear and black versions. The clear version meets ASTM D5330 Type III, while the black version meets ASTM D5330 Type IV. The tape can also be printed using the print-seal process for identification, warning, or advertising applications.
