3M 8896 Clean Removal Strapping Tape is a high-performance industrial tape designed for temporarily securing appliance parts, electronic components, doors, shelves, racks, panels, cords, and other components during manufacturing, handling, and shipment.

Unlike glass-reinforced filament tapes, 3M 8896 uses a tensilized polypropylene film backing to provide high tensile strength and the stiffness needed for manual or semi-automatic dispensing. The durable backing resists tearing, breaking, abrasion, moisture, and scuffing during handling and transportation.

A high-performance pressure-sensitive rubber resin adhesive provides strong initial adhesion and dependable holding power while allowing clean removal from many common surfaces. The adhesive is formulated for balanced adhesion, clean removal, and stain resistance on surfaces such as painted metal, plastic, and glass. Testing on the specific surface is recommended before use.

3M 8896 is well suited for appliance manufacturing, electronics assembly, access-door restraint, utility strapping, and securing protective packaging materials.
