High-Strength Filament Tape for Packaging, Bundling & Reinforcement

3M 893 General Purpose Filament Tape is a high-strength reinforced packaging tape designed for box closing, bundling, palletizing, reinforcing, and securing products during shipping, storage, and handling.

Continuous glass yarn filaments reinforce the tape along its length to provide high tensile strength with low stretch. The clear polypropylene film backing helps resist abrasion, moisture, scuffing, nicks, and punctures while protecting the reinforcing filaments and adhesive during demanding packaging and transportation applications.

A pressure-sensitive rubber resin adhesive provides strong initial adhesion and long-term holding power on common packaging surfaces. 3M 893 bonds well to fiberboard, corrugated cartons, plastics, and metal surfaces, making it a versatile choice for general industrial packaging and reinforcement.

With a tensile strength of approximately 300 lb/in and a total tape thickness of 5.3 mil, 3M 893 provides substantial reinforcement without requiring a heavy tape construction.
