3M 8898 General Purpose Strapping Tape is a high-strength industrial tape designed for bundling, reinforcing, strapping, box closing, appliance securing, and other packaging and manufacturing applications.

Unlike glass-reinforced filament tapes, 3M 8898 uses a tensilized polypropylene film backing to provide high tensile strength without fiberglass reinforcement. The durable backing provides the stiffness needed for manual or semi-automatic dispensing while resisting breaking, abrasion, moisture, and scuffing during handling and transportation.

A pressure-sensitive synthetic rubber resin adhesive provides strong initial adhesion and dependable holding power. The adhesive is formulated for balanced adhesion to most fiberboard surfaces and a variety of plastic and metal surfaces, making 3M 8898 a versatile choice for industrial packaging, manufacturing, and appliance applications.

3M 8898 is well suited for securing shelving, racks, doors, panels, cords, protective packaging materials, and other components during manufacturing and shipment. It can also be used for general-purpose bundling, reinforcing, utility strapping, and box-closing applications.
